Things I've Written
Towards the end of my senior year of high school, I developed an unhealthy relationship with my body and my food. It was hard for me to wrap my head around calling these thoughts a "problem" though, since my behavior didn't meet the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) standards for any one disorder. I thought it was time I share my story in an attempt to say "Hey! It's okay, me too." to everyone else who's gone/is going through any kind of similar experience.
Published on SELF.com, this article ties together my views on love, family, and tattoos, mixing in a little humor along the way. Meant to be a quick and shareable read, the article was received warmly by SELF readers.
I am a huge fan of everything Bachelor-related: Bachelorette, Paradise, Winter Games— you name it and I’ll tune in every week in hopes for some Ben Higgins screen time. My friend and coworker Lindsey, while not being averse to reality TV, has never quite understood my fascination. Lindsey and I actually first bonded over dating apps and relationship advice, so it makes some sort of sense that, to celebrate 18 months of friendship, we’d audition for the Bachelor together.
